Easy Antique Effect | Lorence Coloring Wax

30 March 2022

The common way to create an antique effect on the shoe uppers is to use a high-speed rotating cloth wheel to rub against the burnishing wax, the generating heat could melt the burnishing wax and adhere to the leather surface, thereby deepening the burnishing effect. However, there is limitation on burnishing wax, which can only create effects on aniline leather. And the color of burnishing wax is monotonous, generally there is either colorless or dark brown.

Coloring Wax makes up for the lack of burnishing wax, and can be widely applied on various leather and artificial leather uppers to create a burnishing antique effect. Moreover, there are a variety of colors available, which can create rich antique effects. Lorence Coloring Wax is made of pure natural wax and nano-pigments. It has comfortable waxy feel, transparent gloss, colorful shades and strong sense of hierarchy.

General Instruction of Lorence Coloring Wax:

  1. Clean the shoe upper with leather cleaner (if it is genuine leather, skip this step).
  2. Set the rotation speed of the cloth wheel to 1000 rpm, and attach the colored wax to the cloth wheel.
  3. Let the rotating cloth wheel evenly attach the wax on the toe puff and counter stiffener, and the shoe body is lightly worn.
  4. Spray liquid wax water to enhance color fixing ability.
  5. After drying, polish with a soft cloth wheel or wool wheel.

The above photo shows that the treated toe puff and counter stiffener have obvious antique effect with a strong waxy feel and a transparent gloss.
